John Sebold, Andriana Uken & Mo Yee Lee-DVD- The Plumans Project: Solution Focused Treatment Of Domestic Violence Offenders
This interview with Mo Yee Lee, Adriana Uken and John Sebold details the development and outcome research of a cutting edge treatment approach for domestic violence offenders. This work evolved in Plumas County in Northern California and it demonstrates effective and positive changes in offenders as a result of relatively brief treatment which assisted clients to eliminate violence from their intimate relationships. They have collected data for eleven years and show a high rate of program completion and a low rate of recidivism.
Adriana Uken and John Sebold constitute the Mental Health Department of Plumas County in Northern California. A dozen years ago they were given the task of creating a program for batterers and were disappointed with the results of the models available to them at that time. They, with the support and Solution-Focused methods offered by Insoo Kim Berg, developed the incredibly successful “Plumas Project”. Years later they were joined by Mo Yee Lee, a researcher at Ohio State University, who evaluated the treatment program and co-authored their book, “Solution-Focused Treatment of Domestic Violence Offenders” (2003 Oxford Publications)
