In the 20th century, the natural sciences became the "Keeper of the truth". Social construction attempts to have no one be the keeper of the truth. It undermines ideas of "truth" and is an invitation into a set of relationships. Kenneth J. Gergen is Mustin Professor of Psychology at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. He is a major contributor to theory and research in social construction, and his writings treat a wide range of topics, including postmodernism, organizational process, education, technology, and the self.
